HOMA is grounded in a feminist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed framework that guides all aspects of our work. We are committed to the following core values:
- Dignity and Non-Discrimination
We uphold the equal worth of every individual and reject all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, sex characteristics (SOGIESC), ethnicity, class, disability, age, and other identity markers. - Intersectionality
We recognize the layered systems of oppression that affect LGBTQI+ individuals in Iran. Our work prioritizes inclusivity across diverse identities and lived experiences, including those of rural communities, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and gender-nonconforming individuals. - Do No Harm
We are committed to ensuring the physical, digital, and emotional safety of our communities. Our approach is trauma-informed and harm-reductive across all programs, including advocacy, documentation, and education. - Privacy and Autonomy
We protect the confidentiality and autonomy of all individuals we work with. We do not collect or share personal information without informed consent and never publish identifiable data unless explicitly requested. - Transparency and Accountability
We value open communication, ethical governance, and responsible leadership. We continually reflect on our power and privileges as a diaspora-based initiative and remain accountable to the communities we serve.
